The challenge

An award-winning wine list meant countless hours and tens of thousands of dollars a year spent updating, proofing, and reprinting paper menus.

The solution

Uncorkd iPad menus across the beverage program, chosen for ease of use and fast, human support, with featured bottles managed in seconds.

The result

Roughly $16K saved annually on printing alone, menu changes in real time, and a second location launched on Uncorkd.

An award-winning list, a weekly grind

Copper Door is a local favorite in greater Manchester, New Hampshire: scratch cooking, vaulted ceilings, and a wine list that has earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year since 2012. Keeping the list worthy of that award was another matter. Sandy Rozek, Director of Guest Services, watched countless hours and tens of thousands of dollars go into updating and reprinting wine lists each year, while staff worked to stay sharp on every premium label they poured.

What they did with Uncorkd

Ownership compared digital menu platforms and chose Uncorkd on two criteria: ease of use and customer support. The team moved the full beverage program onto Uncorkd iPad menus, where a wine that runs out disappears from the list with a keystroke instead of waiting on a print run. New finds get featured on a lead page the moment guests open the menu, and Uncorkd trained the management team along the way.

The outcome

Copper Door saves roughly $16,000 a year on printing alone, and the hours once lost to menu upkeep now go back into service. When the owners opened a new location in the fall of 2017, Uncorkd went in from day one.
